The Story

Showtime, a premium cable and satellite television network, always looks for innovative ways to engage fans of its shows. This was especially true as season 4 of its hit show "Homeland" approached. To drive awareness and engagement with mobile advertising, the network produced a mobile trailer for "Homeland" that literally shook viewers to their core, with vibrations and even—spoiler alert!—a simulation of a bomb explosion.

The trailer takes advantage of haptic technology, which is available only on Android. Showtime worked with Immersion Corporation's newest software, TouchSense Engage, which uses smartphones and wearable internal motors to create these simulations.
